Greek filmmaker and BAFTA Awardee Yorgos Lanthimos‘ fourth film with Emma Stone, first titled AND, has been renamed Kinds of Kindness.

Kinds of Kindness is the definitive title of And, the new film by Yorgos Lanthimos, which marks his fourth collaboration with Emma Stone. Searchlight Pictures and producers Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe confirmed the news during an interview with IndieWire.
Kinds of Kindness is currently in post-production after filming wrapped in October 2022 in New Orleans. The production wrapped in December last year. Lanthimos regular Robbie Ryan is back as cinematographer.
The film marks a new collaboration between Emma Stone and Yorgos Lanthimos with her What a Little Thing! co-stars, Margaret Qualley and Willem Dafoe. Also collaborating again with the director will be Joe Alwyn, already seen in his The Favourite. Rounding out the extraordinary cast will be Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, and Euphoria star Hunter Schafer. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes actor Hunter Schafer confirmed that she has a significant role in Kinds of Kindness.
Yorgos Lanthimos directs the film, Efthimis Filippou co-writes the screenplay, and Element Pictures and Film4 Productions produce it. The movie will get its release date for the festival circuit in 2024. Still, the exact date is unconfirmed, but this could mean we might get to see Kinds of Kindness in either Cannes, where Lanthimos took both The Killing of a Sacred Deer and The Lobster, or Venice, where Poor Things premiered last year.
Kinds of Kindness was produced while Poor Things was in the final stages of VFX adjustments. The post-production took so long that Lanthimos decided to shot another movie. Poor Things stars Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley are in the cast.
We don’t know much about what the film is about. However, star Hong Chau mentioned the movie when she was on Marc Maron’s Podcast. It’s essentially an anthology film. It will consist of three separate stories where the same actors play a different role in each story. Kinds of Kindness, as it was renamed, is among the most anticipated theatrical releases of 2024.
Kinds of Kindness will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and will then be released in US theaters on June 21 and in UK & Irish cinemas on June 28, 2024. Find out everything we know about Kinds of Kindless!
