The Golden Globes 2019 are two weeks away: download our printable sheet and guess your winners for this year’s ceremony!
The nominations are out, the hosts have been chosen and the first promotional images have been released. Andy Samberg (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Sandra Oh (Killing Eve, Grey’s Anatomy) will host the 76th Golden Globes ceremony, and what a show it will be. From BlacKkKlansman and If Beale Street Could Talk to A Star is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody, this year’s Best Picture nominees include crowd-pleasers, festival favourites and worldwide sensations. Adam McKay’s Vice leads the competition with its six nominations, but Yorgos Lanthimos’ The Favourite, Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born and Peter Farrelly’s Green Book are also on top of the race with five nominations each.
Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma, Best Film at this year’s Venice Film Festival, is nominated for three awards including “Best Motion Picture: Foreign Language”, a category in which it will be competing with Hirokazu Koreeda’s Shoplifters, winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes. It’s the year of Lady Gaga’s first nomination as an actress and Bradley Cooper’s first nomination as a director. It’s a victory for Marvel, as Black Panther is the second superhero film (after Deadpool in 2017) to be competing for a Best Motion Picture award, and it’s another great year for FX’s American Crime Story, as The Assassination of Gianni Versace is nominated in four categories.
