Tribeca Film Festival

The Tribeca Film Festival is one of the most important and beloved festivals in New York City. It was founded by by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2002, as part of a plan to revitalize Lower Manhattan after 9/11, and it still occurs every year in June. The 22nd edition of the Tribeca Film Festival will take place in New York City on June 5-16, 2024.

The festival is mainly an in-person event, with screenings taking place at various theaters in the city. The main locations are currently OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC, The Indeed Theater at Spring Studios, Village East by Angelika, AMC 19th St. East 6, SVA Theatre, Beacon Theatre, and Symphony Space. The most exciting screenings for film lovers who are interested in celebrities are the Opening Night, Centerpiece, and Closing Galas, where some of the biggest movies are screened every year. Examples include Elemental, Jimmy Carter Rock & Roll President, No Sudden Move, a restored version of Apocalypse Now, and more.

The Tribeca Film Festival has many strands. In the competition, main ones are U.S. Narrative, International Narrative, and Documentary. Other sections include Spotlight Narrative, Spotlight Documentary, Spotlight+, Viewpoints, Midnight, TV and Episodic, and Shorts. Every year, Tribeca Talks take place in the form of conversations with directors and other people in the industry. The festival also has a great Immersive section, showcasing great XR, VR and AR works every year. All My Friends Hate Me, I.S.S., Chasing Chasing Amy, Cherry, and Breaking the News are among the films we loved at Tribeca.
