Born on February 8, 1997 in Orlando, Florida, Kathryn Love Newton has starred in some fantastic movies. The actress initially became famous for her performance as Louise Brooks in comedy series Gary Unmarried (2008-2010). She then played a series of roles in film and TV until she got to play some really great characters.
In Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird – one of her first non-horror roles, she played student Darlene Bell alongside Saoirse Ronan. Kathryn Newton’s 2010s projects include Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Halt and Catch Fire, Supernatural, and Big Little Lies, where she played Abigail Carlson.
It isn’t until 2020 that she really got our attention, first as Millie in Christopher Landon’s Freaky, and then as Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In his review of Lisa Frankenstein, our writer Branyan Towe calls his portrayal of the titular character “her defining contribution to the horror genre.” Read all our reviews and articles of films and shows with Kathryn Newton.
