Born on March 27, 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia, Halle Bailey is an actress, a singer-songwriter, and a composer. Though she skyrocketed to fame with her portrayal of Ariel in 2023 live action The Little Mermaid, her acting career began in 2006, alongside Queen Latifah in the film Last Holiday.
She then went on to star in many TV series and specials and also appeared in various music videos, including Beyoncé: All Night (2016) and Chloe x Halle: Ungodly Hour (2021) In 2018-2022, she played Sky Forster in TV show Grown-Ish, before her movie breakthrough in The Little Mermaid.
In 2023, Halle Bailey starred in the film The Line, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. In the same year, she captivated audiences with her portrayal of young Nettie in Warner Bros. musical The Color Purple. On August 4, 2023, she released her first single as a solo artist, “Angel”.
