1. SOCIETY OF THE SNOW

If you didn’t catch J.A. Bayona’s Society of the Snow when it had its limited theatrical release last month, do not despair. The film is coming to Netflix in January! Selected to represent Spain at the Oscars, this Venice favorite takes place in 1972. The Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 was meant to take a a rugby team to Chile but unexpectedly crashed in the middle of a glacier, in the Andes. The film follows the 29 passengers who survive (out of 45), who find themselves in hostile conditions, having to stay alive in one of the toughest environments in the world.

Foe wasn’t exactly received warmly when it premiered at various festivals last year. But there’s still one big reason to stream it: watching the great Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal act together. In the film, they play a married couple whose life is turned upside down when a stranger(Aaron Pierre) shows up uninvited at their place with a strange proposal.
3. ZUCKERBERG: KING OF THE METAVERSE

If you’re looking for something silly and gory, this new Shudder film should be for you!

Kevin Hart plays Cyrus Whitaker, leader of an international heist crew who’s on a mission to lift $500 million in gold from a passenger plane at 40,000 feet. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Billy Magnussen, Viveik Kalra, Yun Jee Kim, and Sam Worthington are in its all-star cast, and we can’t wait to stream it.

Connie Nielsen and Bill Nighy are also in the film.
7. SELF RELIANCE

After premiering at SXSW, Jake Johnson’s directorial debut is coming to our screens. Self Reliance tells the story of a middle-aged man (Johnson) is one day invited into a limo by Hollywood star Andy Samberg. This changes his life completely, as Johnson has the chance to win a lot of money in a dark web reality TV show, but it’s not as easy as it looks. The show in question sees assassins from all over the world attempt to kill him for 30 days. But since Johnson can’t be killed unless he’s alone, our hero recruits an unlikely team to help him. This gives us Boss Level / Scott Pilgrim vibes!
8. SIXTY MINUTES

If you’re a fan of martial arts and combat movies, Sixty Minutes might be the right movie for you this month. The film is about a Mixed Martial Arts fighter named Octavio (Emilio Sakraya) who only has – you guessed it! – sixty minutes to make it to his daughter’s birthday party. The risk? Losing custody if he doesn’t get there in time. The added difficulty? He has to ditch a fight in order to get there, which means that the city’s most dangerous criminals are all chasing after him.
9. SUITABLE FLESH

A psychiatrist becomes obsessed with helping a patient who suffers from extreme personality disorder in Suitable Flesh. The film was out in theaters last year and is now available to stream as a Shudder exclusive. Heather Graham (Boogie Nights) and Barbara Crampton (Superhost) are in it, which makes it high on our watchlist.
10. THE UNDERDOGGS

January 2024 ends with The Underdoggs, where the one and only Snoop Dogg plays Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings, a washed-up ex-professional football star who’s at the lowest point in his life.
