Star Wars: Forces of Destiny is at the bottom of our rankings. This captivating animated series was geared toward a younger audience and highlighted the incredible female heroes of the Star Wars universe.

The main characters in the series include:

  • Rey (Daisy Ridley): a scavenger from the planet Jakku who becomes a powerful Jedi and key figure in the Resistance.
  • Princess Leia (Shelby Young): a former princess turned general who fights for the Rebel Alliance and later the Resistance.
  • Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein): a former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker who becomes a key figure in the rebellion against the Galactic Empire.

Fans can gain a deeper understanding of the lives of their favorite characters by watching each standalone adventure in which they showcase their bravery, resourcefulness, and compassion. These stories often occur between scenes or events from Star Wars movies and TV shows.

However, despite its stunning animation, the series fails to match the depth and excitement of other Star Wars shows. The visual elements are presented in a straightforward and unembellished way, with a lack of complex detailing or intricate design work.

Furthermore, the format of the series, which consists of separate self-contained stories, does not lend itself to a sustained narrative arc, particularly given that each installment has a relatively brief duration of around two minutes.

While a commendable addition to the franchise, it ultimately falls short of the extraordinary standards set by its animated predecessors.

Key Characters: Rey, Princess Leila, Maz Kanata, Ashoka Tano

Star Wars: Clone Wars is an epic 2D animated TV series that first aired from 2003 to 2005. This groundbreaking show sheds light on the often-overlooked period between Episodes II and III. It delves deep into the intense conflict between the Galactic Republic, under the leadership of the powerful Jedi Order, and the Separatists, who the notorious Sith Lord Count Dooku is leading.

Join the thrilling journey of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (Mat Lucas) and Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (James Arnold Taylor) as they courageously battle the droid armies of the Separatists to protect the Republic. Alongside these heroic warriors, witness the appearances of iconic characters from the Star Wars universe, including Yoda (Tom Kane) and Mace Windu (Terrence C. Carson).

Throughout the series, Anakin and Ahsoka are tasked with various missions, including rescuing Jedi Master Plo Koon (James Arnold Taylor). The series also delves into the political machinations of the Republic and the Separatists, as well as the personal relationships of the Jedi, including Anakin’s marriage to Padmé Amidala.

The series’ grand finale features the epic Battle of Coruscant, where the Separatists launch a massive assault on the Republic’s capital planet. Our heroes, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka, rise to the occasion and become the key players in repelling the fierce attack. In an intense showdown, they capture the notorious Separatist leader, General Grievous. It’s a thrilling conclusion that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

In 1985, Star Wars fans were treated to a thrilling animated series called Star Wars: Droids, one of the closest things to a prequel.

The show follows the beloved robotic duo, C-3PO and R2-D2, as they take on exciting adventures before the events of A New Hope. Even better, Anthony Daniels returns to reprise his role as the iconic Threepio.

While Droids is primarily aimed at children, despite being removed from canon, it continues to deliver well-rounded and captivating storytelling that has stood the test of time.

Though some of the creative choices may seem silly by today’s standards, such as humor and slapstick comedy, which may not appeal to all fans of the Star Wars franchise but back in 1985, it was a groundbreaking first attempt to expand the Star Wars universe through animation.
