The Argylle Experience comes to London

On 20-21 January 2024 in London, The Argylle Experience gives guests an insider look into the world of the Henry Cavill-starring film before its release, in a pop-up event.

The Argylle Experience is coming to London for a one-weekend-only exclusive pop-up exhibition on 20th and 21st January 2024. The pop-up experience is free to attend: you just need to book a slot through Eventbrite as they have limited walk-in options on the days. You can step into the world of Argylle, before seeing the film in cinemas on February 2, just by heading to Soho where you can find the exhibition in Greek Street.

We were lucky enough to attend the Argylle Experience in London before it opened and had a great time. While many of the guests of the experience may not be very familiar with the plot or character of Argylle – after all, the film only comes out in cinema at the beginning of February – the exhibition does a really good job at including props and photo opportunities with elements of the film that we will already know from the trailer. First and foremost, of course, is the cat Alfie, played by a Scottish Fold called Chip, who has taken a pivotal role in the promotional campaign of the film and, quite fittingly, has an entire room dedicated to him.

The Argylle Experience begins from the moment you step through the doors. As soon as guests walk in, they will enter the study of Elly Conway, the main character of the film and writer of the Argylle books that give the name to the movie. There, you will be able to see real props from the movie, including the very books that make up the entrance of the exhibition itself. Upon arrival, guests will also receive a piece of paper with a code name and a code word you have to decipher. But be careful: you need to decipher the world to enter through a secret door that takes you to the rest of this experience.

Once you step through the secret door, you will get to enter the world of Argylle and leave London behind, at least for the duration of the Argylle Experience, with various rooms dedicated to the film. I found it very exciting to see the actual props used in the film, including a special section on the iconic gold glittery Versace dress Dua Lipa wears in the trailer of the film. There are also many photo opportunities that will transport you directly into the setting of the movie with a green screen video that allows the guests to become characters themselves by creating their very own version of the Argylle poster.

The Argylle Experience is a lot of fun and a great way to spend a little less than an hour of your weekend in central London. My favourite part was probably the mirror room that will certainly make you want to lose yourself in it and spend most of your time there. The exhibition is mostly self-guided which allows you to take all the time you want with the various rooms and enjoy the exhibition at your own pace. At the same time, the staff and aesthetic of the experience create the perfect atmosphere to immerse yourself in this world and step into the Argylle novels.

For a free exhibition, The Argylle Experience is absolutely worth it if you are in London this weekend. It may not last very long, as it only consists of four rooms, compared to other more elaborate exhibitions of this sort, but it does allow the guests to see a lot of the props that will be featured in the film. Some of these are also already heavily shown in the trailer and, as such, will most likely play an even bigger role in the movie. The experience also gives us an insider look into these characters and little teases into the film, which only made me all the more excited to see Argylle.

For more information and to attend the event for free, head to the Eventbrite page for The Argylle Experience. It will take place at 59 Greek Street, Soho, London, W1D 3DZ, and you’ll find the full opening schedule there too. Keep scrolling for more pictures we took at the pop-up experience!
