The Fantasia Film Festival takes place in Montreal every year in July-August, focusing on movies of various genres, including horror, fantasy, and sci-fi. It was founded in 1996 and it is held in July-August; ever since its first edition, it has been attracting more festivalgoers each year and become a well-known and beloved festival. Its mission is mainly to promote independent genre films, and many movies from popular and lesser-known auteurs are showcased there every year. The next edition of the festival will take place on July 17 – August 3, 2025 in Montreal, Canada.
