Born on April 18, 1974 in Poole (UK), Edgar Wright is a British director, writer, producer, and actor mainly known for his fast and dynamic editing style, the role music and sound design have in his movies, and a unique sense of humor that translates into his work. He is known for the Three Flavours Cornetto Film Trilogy – 2004’s Shaun of the Dead, 2007’s Hot Fuzz and 2013’s The World’s End – which he made with stars Simon Pegg (who also co-wrote all three movies with Wright) and Nick Frost, and producer Nira Park, all frequent collaborators of his. Among his most acclaimed works are the Channel 4 series Spaced (1999-2001) and films A Fistful of Fingers (1995), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), and Baby Driver (2017), the Audience Award winner at SXSW 2017. Recent releases include The Sparks Brothers and Last Night in Soho (both 2021). Edgar Wright is currently working as a director on upcoming movies The Running Man and The Chain – the former a mystery thriller and the latter a Stephen King adaptation whose cast members include Glen Powell and Karl Glusman.
