5 Teen Shows Returning in 2025

Jenna Ortega in Wednesday Season 2

2025 is here, and you know what that means: it’s time to look at the new shows we’re going to watch this year. It’s only January, and yet we’ve already been treated to some fantastic series, from new releases like American Primeval (Netflix) and The Pitt (Max) to returning Apple TV+ favorites like Severance and Silo. But there’s a lot more to look forward to this year! Teen shows are many audiences’ favorite genre, and there’s much to anticipate in 2025! We made a list of 5 teen shows returning in 2025, including a series that’s already available and four more that you shouldn’t miss! Find them all below in order of release date, and enjoy!

1. XO, Kitty Season 2

Netflix

XO, Kitty Season 2 Trailer (Netflix)

The first show on our list is Season 2 of XO, Kitty, which debuted on Netflix on January 16 with 8 episodes instead of its usual 10, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check it out. This beloved series reunites us with the world of titular protagonist Kitty Song Covey (Anna Catchcart) and her group of friends: Choi Min-young’s Dae-heon Kim, Anthony Keyvan’s Quincy Shabazian, Sang Heon Lee’s Min-ho, and Gian Kim’s Yuri Han. We are back at the Korean Independent School of Seoul, where new characters Stella (Audrey Huynh) and Praveena (Sasha Bhasin) join our chaotic teens, and what ensues is a new season that’s just as addictive as the first and that uses its South Korean setting to its full advantage.

If you love shows revolving around college and students – in which case, you might also be looking for a research proposal writing serviceXo, Kitty will be a great watch for you: if you’re a student yourself, you’ll definitely identify with one or more of its characters and their struggles, and if you’re feeling nostalgic about the high school days, this could become your next comfort watch. If you don’t mind the occasional cliché and are a fan of K-Dramas, Season 2 won’t disappoint!

2. The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3

The Summer I Turned Pretty fans, rejoice! Season 3 is coming this year, with a total of 10 episodes! We don’t have an exact date yet, but it should be out in summer 2025, which gives you plenty of time to rewatch the first two series. The show revolves around a young woman named Belly (Lola Tung), whom we first meet during the titular summer. In season 1, we learn that Belly usually spends her summers with her brother Steven (Sean Kaufman), her mother Laurel (Jakie Chung), her mum’s best friend Susannah (Rachel Blanchard) and her sons Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), at Susannah’s summer house. We also find out that Belly has had a crush on Conrad forever, even though the boy has never shown any interest in her. Needless to say, this is the summer she turns pretty, and everything changes.

The show is an adaptation of a book trilogy by Jenny Han, who’s also the show’s creator, and the new season will follow the third and final novel, “We’ll Always Have Summer,” which takes place two years after season 2. Once again, it all comes down to Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah, but this time our protagonist will have to make a choice.

3. Wednesday Season 2

Netflix

Season 2 of Wednesday wrapped production last year, and with the announcement came the confirmation of a 2025 release date. This Addams Family reboot from director Tim Burton was an instant success from the moment it was released on Netflix, thanks to its charismatic lead and irresistible world building. In Season 1, we met Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) as she enrolled at Nevermore Academy, a high school for supernatural beings which her parents, Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones), also attended. But Wednesday’s psychic powers seem to be taking a long time to fully manifest, and the fact that she doesn’t exactly fit in at the school doesn’t help. On top of this, there’s a mystery to be solved which might prevent some people from dying.

It was a busy year for Wednesday Addams – and for her roommate Enid Sinclair, played to perfection by Emma Myers – in Season 1, and more mysteries are in store in Season 2, which showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar describe as “delightfully dark, kooky, and mysterious. The entire cast of Season 1 will return, joined by new regulars: Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Billie Piper as Capri, and Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn. We couldn’t be more excited.

4. Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2

Disney+

Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2 Tease (Disney+)

Based on Rick Riordan’s books, Disney’s Percy Jackson And The Olympians first hit our screens in February last years, captivating both fans and newcomers. The first season, revolved around young demigod Percy Jackson‘s (Walker Scobell) discovery about his father’s true identity, and his subsequent adventures in an unknown but fascinating world. Ancient Mythology becomes reality when Percy arrives at Camp Half-blood, a school/training home for demigods, where he meets fellow apprentices Luke Castellan (Charlie Bushnell) and Clarisse La Rue (Dior Goodjohn). Together, and joined by Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri), our heroes embark on a quest across the country, which will see them face mythological creatures and get them closer to their destinies.

Season 2 will be based on “The Sea of Monsters,” the second novel in the series, in which Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood to find that all his friends have changed, one of them is missing, he has a cyclops relative, and the forces of Kronos are attacking the camp. All of these things combined will take him into the Sea of Monsters to face his deadliest enemy yet. Disney confirmed at D23 2024 that Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2 will be out on Disney+ in 2025, so let the wait begin!

5. Euphoria Season 3

If you’re a Euphoria fan, you’ve been waiting for Season 3 for a very long time. The beloved show was renewed for a new season back in February 2022, but with the writers’ strikes, it suffered some delays. The wait is nearly over, as HBO announced in an official statement that the show is scheduled to start filming again in January 2025, which means we might be able to watch these new episodes later this year.

From showrunner Sam Levinson, Euphoria mainly centers around a recovering drug addict named Rue (Zendaya). At the start of Season 1, we follow her as she returns to high school and tries to navigate relationships with the people she cares about – mainly, her mum and sister (Storm Reid). Soon, a new character arrives at her school, Hunter Schafer’s Jules, and things become more complex – even more so when we start to get to know the popular Nate (Jacob Elordi), son of wealthy businessman Cal (Eric Dane).

There are so many more characters in Euphoria, each with their own secrets, and even though Season 2 wasn’t as good as the first, there’s still a strong foundation for a potentially great Season 3. The entire main cast will be returning, so we’ll be watching!

The 5 teen shows listed above will all be returning in 2025! There should be something for everyone here, from hits that you can stream right now to upcoming sequels to beloved series, and highly anticipated returns that we’ve been awaiting for a long time. Even if we don’t have an official release date for all of them, they will all be worth the wait. Happy watching!
