My love affair with independent film began at Manchester’s dearly departed Cornerhouse in the early 2010s. Ever since, I’ve been passionate about combining my love of film, literature and languages to uncover hidden gems and raise the profile of world cinema in the UK. Alongside my writing, I have worked at Phoenix Cinema and Arts Centre in Leicester, and I am currently part of the team behind Wigan and Leigh Short Film Festival. My favourite directors include Bernardo Bertolucci, Sidney Lumet, Richard Linklater and Céline Sciamma.
