Spring is here, and as it breezes right on in, it brings with it a whole new host of buzzed-about TV shows to stream. Here’s everything new coming in April 2026.
Spring has sprung, and with it comes a host of buzzed-about new TV shows featuring top-tier casts, creative teams, and compelling narratives. From brand-new series to those returning with new installments, there’s plenty to keep you busy this month. Expect to see new seasons of Netflix shows Beef and Running Point, Apple TV series Your Friends & Neighbors and Criminal Record, HBO Original Euphoria, The Boys on Prime Video, and the hit MGM+ horror series From. Also, don’t forget that the end of March saw some pretty big premieres with new seasons of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, and the highly anticipated fifth season of For All Mankind on Apple TV.
There’s also plenty of new content to consume, such as The Handmaid’s Tale spinoff The Testaments, Dan Levy’s new original series Big Mistakes, a new Matthew Rhys series, and even a couple of anticipated animated series. Let’s take a look at everything new streaming in April 2026: here are 10 new shows to stream this month, listed in order of release date.
1. Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord

Darth Maul is taking center stage in his very own animated series Maul: Shadow Lord, which serves as a follow-up to Star Wars: The Clone Wars and is created by Clone Wars mastermind Dave Filoni. Set during the era of the Galactic Empire, Shadow Lord continues the animation style of The Clone Wars but brings a new level of sophistication to its fun, darkly tinged deep dive into an unexplored corner of Star Wars lore. The cast lineup includes Oscar nominee Wagner Moura, of Dope Thief and The Secret Agent, who stars as a detective operating separately from the Empire.
2. The Testaments

Who says our days in Gilead are over? June Osborne’s story might’ve ended with The Handmaid’s Tale, but a whole new chapter begins with spinoff series The Testaments, which is also based on Margaret Atwood’s 2019 novel of the same name. Set years after the explosive showdown in the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale, the spinoff series will feature a coming-of-age story centered on a new generation of young women in Gilead, ones who’ve never experienced life outside the city’s structures. Chase Infiniti, of One Battle After Another, stars in the lead, and yes, Ann Dowd will be returning as Aunt Lydia. Mark your calendars.
3. The Miniature Wife
Premiere Date: April 9, 2026

Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen is back, this time alongside Elizabeth Banks, of The Better Sister, in the zany new Peacock original dramedy The Miniature Wife. Based on the short story by Manuel Gonzales, it follows married couple Lindy (Banks) and Les (Macfadyen) as they’re forced to re-evaluate their relationship’s power dynamics after he accidentally shrinks her in the wake of a science experiment gone wrong. Les assures her that she’ll be fine as long as she stays in her dollhouse, but when the scientist attempts to reverse the experiment, a problem surfaces and everything explodes.
4. Big Mistakes
Premiere Date: April 9, 2026

Dany Levy, of Schitt’s Creek, is back with his second original scripted series and this time, he’s not only bringing the family drama, but he’s also mixing it with a little crime. In what promises to be a wildly dysfunctional, hilariously chaotic ride, Big Mistakes follows two inept siblings who are blackmailed into working for some very dangerous people in the world of organized crime. In addition to Levy, the eight-episode show will also feature performances by Laurie Metcalf, of Monster: The Ed Gein Story, and Taylor Ortega, of The Four Seasons.
5. Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair
Premiere Date: April 10, 2026

It’s been 20 years since Malcolm (Frankie Muniz) and his family have joined us for dinner, but now they’re back in a four-part revival series, Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair. Expect to catch up with the former child prodigy, who now lives with his girlfriend Tristan (Kiana Madeira, of the Fear Street franchise) and daughter (Keeley Karsten, of The Fabelmans). When his parents Hal (Bryan Cranston) and Lois (Jane Kaczmarek) make him attend their 40th wedding anniversary, it’s family-reunion city. What are we most excited about seeing? Bryan Cranston reviving his screwball character, post-Breaking Bad career.
6. The Audacity
Premiere Date: April 12, 2026

The writers and producers of Better Call Saul and Succession have come together to bring us The Audacity, a dramedy series that tells the story of Silicon Valley as it is: ridiculous and terrifying. Billy Magnussen, of Road House, stars as Duncan Park, a manic tech mogul CEO who finds himself trapped in a massive scandal around personal data and privacy. Since no one attempts to stop the tech lords, they, in turn, will stop at nothing to control everything, using AI and data as tools to pursue humanity into a corner. Settle in as Park and his ethics-damaged therapist guide us through a darkly comedic look at the Valley’s madness and failings, including warped dreams, outsized egos, and ethical lapses of the self-styled investors. Zach Galifianakis and Simon Helberg, of The Big Bang Theory, also star.
7. Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Premiere Date: April 15, 2026

Prolific television writer and producer David E. Kelley gives us his take on Rufi Thorpe’s best-selling novel of the same name. Elle Fanning, of Predator: Badlands, stars as Margo, daughter of a former Hooter’s waitress and an ex-pro wrestler, and college dropout and aspiring writer who got knocked up by her professor. Now drowning in bills, she pursues another source of income through OnlyFans. Nick Offerman, of Death by Lightning, Michelle Pfeiffer, of The Madison, Greg Kinnear, of Smoke, and Nicole Kidman, of Scarpetta, also star.
8. Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85
Premiere Date: April 23, 2026

The original Stranger Things show might be over, but the Duffer Brothers aren’t done with Netflix yet, and there are still plenty of stories left to be told in Hawkins. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is an animated entry in the growing franchise that follows the kids from the mainline series as they fight to protect their town in the winter of 1985, before the events of the main show’s final season.
9. Widow’s Bay
Premiere Date: April 29, 2026

In the new comedy-horror series Widow’s Bay, Matthew Rhys, of The Beast in Me, stars as Tom Loftis, mayor of a New England town who has his sights set on making the island the next tourist hotspot. However, when locals warn him that the area is plagued by a curse, the skeptical mayor refuses to yield to their superstitions. As he works to modernize the town and boost tourism, the dark legends he heard about quickly become terrifyingly real.
10. Half Man
Premiere Date: April 23, 2026

Remember 2024’s Baby Reindeer miniseries that had us all glued to our screens in total shock? Yeah, well, Richard Gadd is back, this time on a new platform with a completely fictional story, alongside Jamie Bell, of Billy Elliot. The drama, formerly titled Lions, focuses on the tumultuous relationship between brothers Ruben (Gadd) and Niall (Bell), who had a falling out and met again at Niall’s wedding, leading to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives, over several decades. The new miniseries is set to premiere on HBO and HBO Max on April 23, with a BBC and BBC iPlayer release in the UK from April 24. Keep your eyes peeled for this one. You won’t want to miss it!
